  PROPERTIES

 White, slightly hygroscopic, crystalline powder, slight odor of Formic acid; Soluble in water; Soluble in glycerol; slight soluble in alcohol; Insoluble in ether. Sp. gr 1.19; M.P. 245 C; at higher temperature decomposition into Sodium Oxalate and Hydrogen, then into Sodium Carbonate.

 APPLICATIONS

Reducing Agent; Medicine; Manufacture of Formic acid, Oxalic acid and Sodium Hydrosulfite; In dyeing and printing fabrics; Tanning of leather; Wallpaper printing; Mordant Intermediates; Organic chemicals; Buffering agents.
